NSL-1

Filling the gaps in the market

The NSL-1 is a revolutionary and novel, patented design for a nail gun attachment that solves the problem of filling the hole created when the nail has been fired into wood by automatically filling the hole with filler.

The DIY market in the UK is worth in excess of £14 billion a year and in the US it is over $140 billion a year with the power tool segment at £363million and $10billion respectively.

One of the larger nail gun manufacturers in the UK that we have been in dialogue with has indicated that out of a £20 million turnover, approximately £17 million is from the sale of nails and £3 million is from the sale of the nail guns. From this it can be assumed that the market for the Nail Seal solution is large.

Customer Survey

Nail guns are primarily used for housing, construction and assembly line work. They have also become increasingly popular with the DIY (Do-it-Yourself) market. It is estimated that 1/3 of all nails fired by nail guns need to be filled, sanded and finished.

The only way to fill these holes is with a labour intensive, manual process. Over 225,000 new houses are built in the UK each year and over 2 million in the US. All of these homes have thousands of nail holes that must be filled with wood filler.

There are skirting boards, windows, stairs and numerous other operations that require nail holes to be filled in a new house. A substantial amount of time would be saved by using the Nail Seal solution. The average house construction project in the UK requires approximately 2000 nails that will need to be filled, sanded and finished. This typically represents 6 hours of labour per house, which equates to £150 or approximately $300 USD.

It is anticipated that 2000 Nail Seals would sell for £60 or $120 USD resulting in a 60% reduction in costs.
